Walking Aids, Crutches and Walking Frames

Walking aids cost the NHS huge sums of money every year to supply to patients and these aids are more often than not never returned to the hospitals to be reused.  The Physiotherapy departments of EKHUFT spent in excess of £27,000 last year on walking aids.

We always check any returned crutches and other walking aids to see if we can reuse them.  If we cannot use them for our patients we inform charities such as Operation Sunshine, who collect and refurbish them to send abroad to third world countries and for landmine victims.

If you do have any walking aids that could be returned to us please drop them off at any Physiotherapy Department at any of the following hospitals.
