Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre

Haemophilia services

Welcome to the Haemophilia Centre

We are a specialist centre concerned with the diagnosis and management and treatment of patients with Haemophilia and other bleeding disorders within the Kent and East Sussex area. We are a Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre (HCCC), which means that in addition to the Haemophilia Consultants, we also have specialist haemophilia nurses, including a paediatric haemophilia nurse, and specialist haemophilia physiotherapists. We also provide a specialist coagulation laboratory service.

We also offer an anticoagulant monitoring service for patients on warfarin in the East Kent area. Please note that we do not provide an acute thrombosis diagnostic service - these patients need to be referred via the DVT/PE pathways to Ambulatory care or A&E. After a blood clot has been confirmed, patients may be referred to the Haemophilia and Thrombosis centre for advice about duration of anti-coagulation.
