Education and career history
Qualified from Guy’s and St. Thomas’s Hospital Medical Schools in 1994.Basic medical training in North-West Thames region and Guy’s hospital. 
The core of my specialist training in medicine and diabetes and endocrinology took place in London at University Hospital Lewisham, Guy’s, Kings and St. Georges’ Hospitals where I  also spent a year in the department of cardiovascular medicine and during that time developed my interest in the investigation and treatment of high blood pressure. 
 
Current ongoing research involves a novel and potentially more accurate method of estimating GFR using formula including fat free mass which may be important particularly at extremes of weight. 
 
I completed my higher specialist training in 2005 and was appointed as a Consultant Physician in Diabetes & Endocrinology at the QEQM Hospital, Margate in September 2005 which also includes a weekly session in Canterbury.
