Dr Brett Pereira is currently the Clinical Lead for Respiratory Medicine in East Kent and is responsible for Respiratory Service delivery and development across all hospital sites in the Trust. He is also the PCT-nominated Lead for anti-IgE therapy for severe allergic asthma in East Kent.
After a period of epidemiological research into food allergies in cohorts of children on the Isle of Wight Dr Pereira joined the East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust as Consultant Chest Physician in 2005.
His research interests include respiratory and food allergies and obstructive lung diseases including COPD. He has written a number of peer reviewed publications and book chapters and is also an invited Reviewer for International peer-reviewed journals.
He organises the Respiratory Teaching programme for junior doctors at Kent & Canterbury Hospital and is Educational & Clinical Supervisor for various grades of doctors in training.
