Annual Members' Meeting 2018

The Annual Members' meeting took place on 10 September 2018 at the Spitfire Cricket Ground, Canterbury, CT1 3NZ, with over 50 FT members and members of the public in attendance together with Board, Staff  and Council of Governors members.  

The event began with an opportunity to visit a number of stalls showcasing many of the services provided by the Trust.  These included the work of the following teams: Respiratory Care; Tissue Viability Nurses; Patient Nutrition and Feeding; and Maternity.

Professor Stephen Smith, Trust Chairman, opened the formal meeting at 6.30 and, among other items, spoke about the step change the NHS is moving through as a consequence of the massive advancements made in data technology over recent years.  This was demonstrated by the presentation given by Dr Michael Bedford, Renal Consultant on the innovative way technology is being used to enhance patient care for those with chronic renal problems.   

A presentation was given by Annette Clarke, Learning Disabilities Practitioner, and Sally Hyde, Head of Adult Safeguarding, showing the work of the Trust team supporting patients with learning disabilities.  

The CEO, Susan Acott, and Director of Finance, Phil Cave, gave presentations on the Trust's performance over 2017/18 and the expectations for the coming year.  Lead Governor, Sarah Andrews, spoke about the work of the Council of Governors.

The evening concluded with a Q&A session.
