Professional background
Raymond is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon and the Medical Director at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He was a British Army medical officer in the Royal Army Medical Corps and served at home and on operations as the Regimental Medical Officer to 1st Battalion The Black Watch and as a surgeon in a deployed field hospital in Europe, North America, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. He undertook basic and higher surgical training in South East Scotland based around Edinburgh, Fife and the Borders. Raymond's higher surgical training has been in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.
Raymond has a strong professional interest in education and training, patient safety as well as quality and governance.
