To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, The World Health Organisation has designated 2020 as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife.
At East Kent Hospitals, our nurses and midwives have hugely important roles to play. Nurses and midwives touch everyone’s lives at some point, and yet we rarely know much about the people behind the uniforms.
Throughout the year we’ll be showcasing some of our inspirational nurses and midwives, with stories of why they chose their profession, and their many and varied roles within the Trust. From student midwives to matrons, we’ll be meeting the people who help care for patients across east Kent and highlighting their strengths and passions.
If their stories inspire you to consider nursing or midwifery as a career, or to rejoin the profession, take a look at our jobs page to see our latest vacancies.
