New - volunteer gardener project

The Trust is currently looking for green-fingered volunteers to help make-over some of the gardens so patients and visitors can get the most out of the outside space available.

The volunteers’ tasks will be likely to include digging over flower beds, pruning plants and general gardening tasks.

If you can spare a few hours each week helping our gardening teams to create comfortable outdoor spaces for our patients and visitors, please contact Mandy Carliell on: Mandy.carliell@nhs.net or call 07917 790 322.

About volunteers

We value the involvement of local people as volunteers in activities that enhance the quality of life for our patients, visitors, carers, and also support the staff in delivering high quality health care.

Volunteers are involved in many areas of our services, such as meeting and greeting, assisting our staff with administration, mealtime companions, dementia buddies and navigating our patients and visitors around the hospitals.

The range of opportunities continually changes so we are sure to find you something you will enjoy.

Volunteers are not used to replace paid staff and a volunteering role is not the same as work experience.

How to apply

Due to the ongoing  Covid-19 pandemic we have decided to stop all volunteer recruitment. Please check back regularly for further updates.
