Tiny tots are in the driving seat after a transformation of the garden area of their nursery, based in the grounds of the William Harvey Hospital.
The outdoor space at Little Oaks Ashford was overhauled in a partnership between the nursery, East Kent Hospitals and 2gether Support Solutions.
Worn out play equipment has been replaced and the area was given a face lift, with a new road layout marked out on the grass including a petrol station and zebra crossings.
Nursery owner Julie Ready said: “The children love their fantastic new outdoor play area and all the opportunities it offers.
“The sand pit and water cascade equipment are very popular, and they enjoy riding their bikes and trikes on the ‘road’.
“It gives them the perfect opportunity for physical development with the added bonus of learning about road safety, including crossing the road, and we are very grateful to 2gether Support Solutions and the Trust for their help making our new garden a reality.”
Gregg Hayman, head of estates for 2gether Support Solutions, said: “We were delighted to support this project and give the children and staff a much improved and safe play area.
