Premature babies are getting a better start with feeding thanks to new cool bags donated by East Kent Hospitals Charity. The bags are given to mums to make it a little easier to transport expressed milk to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or Special Care Baby Unit where their child is being cared for.
Norma said: “We are really grateful when charitable funds are given to the units as this enables us to do things like buying the cool bags to make things a little easier for our new mums and their babies – who are often premature. We hope the cool bags will make it possible for mums to bring expressed milk to their babies giving their little ones the very best start in life possible”.
The baby units expect around 300 families a year will benefit from the bags.
