Breast screening for Nepalese women in Folkestone

Gurkha Peace Foundation

The Kent Breast Screening Programme has just finished screening 190 women from the Nepalese community in Folkestone.

The process happened more smoothly thanks to support from the Gurkha Peace Foundation, which translated the invitation letter and standard instructions. The appointments took place on the Mobile Breast Screening Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone.

The screening mobiles are in Folkestone until November this year by which time all women aged between 50 and 70 who are registered at a Folkestone GP surgery will have been invited for an appointment.
