Teenagers brighten rooms for children and parents at QEQM

A group of teenagers from Dane Court Grammar School, Broadstairs, have brought life to the playroom and parents room on Rainbow Ward at QEQM, in Margate.

Gathering a team of volunteers in her year, Emily Bennett, age 15, coordinated the team of seven to paint the playroom in vibrant colours and artworks. Once the teenagers had finished they signed their names in different places within the mural, providing children on the ward with an additional fun activity of finding the hidden names.

Emily, who has been a Charity Representative at the school for two years, said: “It all paid off as the final results are stunning and beyond what I had imagined. We hope that the children and parents will be able to relax and enjoy the surroundings at what must be a very difficult time for them.”
