Happy Birthday Buckland!

Staff, patients and guests helped to celebrate Buckland Hospitals Birthday on Friday 1st July.

In its first year, Buckland saw 40,000 patients, with over 90% of the services listed during the consultation on outpatient services in east Kent being provided at the hospital. The Trusts’ aims are to provide around 85% of all outpatient services for Dover district from healthcare facilities located in Dover.  The Trust is also about to significantly expand ophthalmology services on the site.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff who were involved in the move from the much loved old building to this fantastic facility,” said Chief Executive Matthew Kershaw.

“Your dedication and hard work is reflected in the many positive comments we receive from the local people who use this fantastic new hospital.”

Amongst today’s guests were Charlie Elphicke MP, Trust Chair Nikki Cole, Trust governors and representatives from our partner organisations.
