Jeremy Hunt MP sees 'important positive changes' at WHH

Staff and patients at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford were pleased to welcome the Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt MP this week.

Mr Hunt started the visit with a quick meeting with hospital staff where he took the opportunity to speak with a mix of frontline and non-clinical staff.

Jeremy said, “I was delighted to visit East Kent and meet with staff on the frontline.

"I heard positive news about the improvements that the Trust is making, and it seems clear that after a challenging period important changes are happening for both patients and staff.

"I look forward to seeing further progress in the coming months.”

The Secretary of State then took a tour of the hospital including a visit to the Hub, A&E, the new CT scanning facilities and the Cardiac Catheter Suite, talking to staff from each department.

As well as William Harvey, he also dropped in at the Estuary View Medical Centre to see how a pioneering national project is developing more health and care services in the community.

It seems clear that after a challenging period important changes are happening for both patients and staff."
