Paula takes gong for Living Our Values

Associate Practitioner on Kings D at William Harvey Hospital, Paula Tapp shone in the Trust Awards 2016 after winning in the Living Our Values category.

Paula deals directly with our patients on a day-to-day basis. She came to the Trust with a wealth of knowledge and experience from the community, including managing a care home for individuals with learning difficulties.

Paula has carried that experience into the Trust and put it to good use. Just a few months ago, Paula was rewarded for the wonderful care she gives to those with learning difficulties by winning the Barbara Mushett award.

Paula truly believes that you should treat people how you wish to be treated yourself, which means that she lives and breathes the Trust’s values and even when times are tough, she smiles and manages to keep calm.

The qualities Paula portrays are very welcomed by the staff working on Kings D; passion, integrity, compassion, warmth, maturity and kindness. With so many great qualities, she truly is a superb role model to her peers.

Paula wasn't around to collect her award, but when she found out she was nominated, she said: "I think the most important part of my job is to be kind and to put patients first and make sure they feel listened to."
