Bright Futures

Bright Futures, the award winning employment course, is back for its sixth year, and it might be the perfect opportunity for you or someone you know.

From September 2010 to July 2016 the course has meant eleven people have moved into paid employment, nine have gone on to voluntary work and another three have started a Assisted Apprenticeship funded by Kent County Council.  This means that 64% of all students who completed the course have gone on to further work.

Employment is a vital part of social inclusion and the benefits are much more than just financial.  Being in employment helps to build self-esteem, confidence and independence.

The Bright Futures programme here at EKHUFT, is based at the QEQM hospital and offers interns a chance to experience working within a large hospital environment in a variety of different roles. The fully experienced Job Coaches will be available to support you, for as long as necessary, to become an independent employee.

You will also have your own Individual Learning Programme to ensure we find you the right form of employment and to help you gain new skills that will, hopefully, lead to paid employment.

Interns will be expected to work alongside mentors, in their day-to-day roles within the local hospital. Interns will undertake up to three different work placements within the hospital.

To be eligible to take part you must;

  • Be aged between 18-24
  • Not be receiving JSA
  • Have a current Education Health Care Plan, or previously an LDA or SEN.
