Praise for ‘Employee of the Month’ Bev

A hard-working ward housekeeper based at Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital has been named as ‘Ward Employee of the Month’ in recognition of her dedication to colleagues and patients.

Bev Beaumont from Ashford works on the hospital’s Kings C2 ward and picked up her accolade in the same week that she celebrated her 50th birthday.

Bev – who is employed by Serco – has received much praise in the course of her work. One patient put pen to paper following their treatment to say: “I just wanted to say how lovely Bev is…an absolute ray of sunshine.”

The patient added: “It’s only a shame we can’t bottle her and use her as medication…I’ll miss her bright and cheery manner when I go home, and I’m pretty sure she has aided my recovery.”

The heartfelt letter ended: “She’s a treasure! Thank you for people like Bev in the world.”

Kings C2 ward manger Sara Button is equally appreciative of Bev’s hard work.

She said: “Bev has always had great feedback from patients and we’re proud to have her on the ward. She’s always smiling and happy, nothing is too much trouble for her and she really goes the extra mile for patients.”
