Golf Club gift soothes children

Patients in the Honey Bears children's specialist unit at Kent & Canterbury Hospital are now able to enjoy the benefits of a new sensory machine thanks to a wonderful gift from Canterbury Golf Club.

The machine, a tall glass case which has light, water and sound effects, was officially presented to the unit on Friday 9 February, with the League of Friends of Kent & Canterbury Hospital and will help to soothe the nerves of young children who attend the centre for their treatment.

Jane Flockart, Honey Bears Unit Manager, said: “The machine helps to ensure that our young patients are relaxed while treatments are taking place.
