EKHUFT celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) runs from 5 to 9 March and is coordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service.

Now in its 11th year, NAW brings together everyone passionate about apprenticeships to encourage more people to choose apprenticeships as a fast-track to a great career and business growth.

The theme of National Apprenticeship Week 2018 is Apprenticeships Work to showcase how apprenticeships work for individuals, employers, local communities and the wider economy.

EKHUFT is marking NAW by celebrating its own work with apprentices, and the apprenticeship qualifications offered to existing staff across the Trust.

Next year we hope to have more than a hundred apprentices working in our teams.

Emma Young, Apprenticeship and Widening Participation Coordinator, said: “An apprenticeship is a vocational qualification that provides a great way for young people and adult learners to earn while they learn in a real job.

“At EKHUFT, we currently offer a variety of programmes ranging from Business Admin to Nurse Associate.

“Apprenticeships are for everyone! There’s no age limit, and they can be completed by new and existing staff members without it affecting their terms and conditions.

“We hope to increase our offer in time so that we can help EKHUFT equip its future workforce."
