Apprenticeship Award for East Kent Hospitals

East Kent Hospitals have won a coveted prize for the second year running thanks to the hard work of the Apprenticeship Team.

The East Kent Apprenticeship Awards took place to recognise the individuals, businesses and organisations that are championing apprenticeships in the east of the county.

The awards showcased what is being achieved across the numerous sectors engaged with apprenticeships including construction and engineering, hospitality and retail, science and manufacturing, business administration and health and beauty.

More than 80 people gathered to discover the winners at The Yarrow Hotel in Broadstairs, and the team from EKHUFT took away the award for 'Public Sector Organisation of The Year'.

This category was about teams working in local authorities, the NHS and other public sector organisations, setting the standard for best practice and providing Apprentices with the best possible start.

The EKHUFT Apprenticeship team said: "We are genuinely surprised and shocked to have won the Apprentice Employer of the year award for the second year running.

"We couldn't do any of this without our apprentices, the support of EKHUFT staff and training providers. Amazing work everyone."

Paul Sayers, executive director of strategy and partnerships at EKC Group said: “It was a delight to see the apprentices and employers being recognised and celebrated. We’d like to thank every employer and provider who put forward nominations and congratulate all of those who won.”
