Staff and patients across East Kent Hospitals will benefit from a year-long partnership with the Canterbury office of Kreston Reeves.
The local team of the firm of chartered accountants and financial advisers selected East Kent Hospitals Charity to benefit from their fundraising activities.
It builds on support the team has already offered, including delivering care packages of toiletries, snacks and treats to frontline staff at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, William Harvey Hospital in Ashford and the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.
Dee Neligan, senior charity officer at East Kent Hospitals Charity, said: “I am delighted that the Canterbury office of Kreston Reeves have chosen us as their charity of the year and look forward to working with them and supporting their fundraising.
“Partnerships such as this are a fantastic way to support the charity, which in turn supports our hospitals and our fantastic staff to help them care for our communities.
“It is no secret that the past year has been hugely difficult for NHS staff but having the support of businesses, groups and individuals really helps them to keep going even in the toughest of times.”
Kreston Reeves staff will be taking part in the KM Colour Run on 22 August to raise money for the charity, and are planning other events until at least May 2022.
All the money they raise will go to the Helping Your Hospitals Appeal, which provides ongoing support to staff across the Trust and its subsidiary 2gether Support Solutions. It was set up at the start of the pandemic and has funded a range of projects and initiatives including a psychologist, counselling and trauma resilience training, as well as care packages and other practical items.
Sophie Unwin, Corporate Tax Processor and CSR representative from Kreston Reeves said: “Every year we ask our colleagues to nominate local charities to be considered as our office charity of the year.
“The entire office then votes on which charity they feel Kreston Reeves Canterbury should support through fundraising for the upcoming financial year.
“It was my colleague Jenna Richards who put forward East Kent Hospitals Charity, as the charity is close to her heart. Myself and my colleagues are delighted to support EKHC this year, showing our appreciation and giving back to the NHS superstars who have helped so many during the COVID 19 pandemic.”
