The CQC has published reports into inspections of medical care at William Harvey Hospital and Kent and Canterbury Hospital in May this year.
Inspectors found improvements in both hospitals and as a result the William Harvey Hospital has improved from inadequate to requires improvement for the CQC “safe” domain, the Kent and Canterbury rating remains requires improvement. Both hospitals remain requires improvement overall.

Chief Executive Susan Acott said: “Our staff have worked incredibly hard to improve care for patients and I am pleased that the CQC has recognised this.
“We know there is more to do to consistently provide the highest standards of care and we are urgently addressing the areas highlighted for improvement.”
