Hard-working hospital staff will benefit from donations left by diners at a new restaurant.

Customers at Rosemont Restaurant in Folkestone were invited to make a donation to East Kent Hospitals Charity after enjoying a meal at their soft launch in May.

A total of £564 was donated, which will go towards the charity’s Helping Your Hospitals Appeal, supporting staff wellbeing across East Kent Hospitals.

Senior charity officer Dee Neligan said: “I was delighted to receive this fantastic donation from the restaurant team and their customers.

“We are always touched when people go out of their way to support our amazing staff and it was lovely of the restaurant team to encourage people to make a donation on their soft launch days.

“Our teams have worked incredibly hard during the coronavirus pandemic and continue to do so, and we will use this donation to continue to support them in a variety of ways, from providing treats such as cold drinks or snacks to funding ongoing emotional support for frontline teams.”

Restaurant manager Hazel Erdogan said: “Many of our family and friends have used services across East Kent Hospitals so we wanted to do our bit to support the hospital charity.

“We know the donation will make a real difference to hospital staff.”
