The latest equipment bought by the Friends of the William Harvey Hospital is being put to good use on the wards.
The charity purchased a portable ultrasound machine to help staff locate veins more easily when taking blood, which has been welcomed by staff on Padua Ward.
Ward manager Lindsay Wheeler said: “We are very excited to have this lovely new piece of kit and have used it to great effect already.
“Thank you so much!"
The equipment was partially funded by donations from Roger Anderson and The Varne.
Padua Ward also benefited from a Christmas lights display set up by fundraiser Jonathan Black from Littlestone. He raised £504, which has now been spent on toys for the ward, including an ironing board set, computer monitor, charging station, supermarket toy and a pram.
Friends manager Jill Barringer said: “Thank you to all those that donated to Jonathan's JustGiving page. Every penny will be spent on the ward toys and just think of the joy and fun these are going to bring!”
The charity has also purchased items for the maternity bereavement suite at the hospital.
