RITA's
Across the three acute sites at the Trust, we have access to RITA (Reminiscence Interactive Therapy & Activities) computer systems which are available on most wards.
These are available to support patients living with dementia, confusion or delirium. The Rita can help by recalling memories, help patients relax in the hospital environment and encourage conversation and interaction between patients, their family and staff.

OMI's
The OMI is also an interactive system to support patients during their admission, we currently have one at William Harvey, one at Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and two at Kent and Canterbury.
These are a great tool with interacting patients, the benefits of the interactive projector can provide, greater socialisation, willingness to communicate, enjoyment, encourages more flexibility and upper body movement/coordination, sustained moments of lucidity and brightness, improved relationships with peers and staff. The dementia team have access to the OMI’s at WHH and QEQM. At K&C the therapists within the stroke department and neuro rehab have access to these.
