How we treat

In order to investigate your symptoms, the consultant and specialist nurse may require diagnostic test to ascertain a diagnosis. Some of these may include

  • Blood test
  • CT scans
  • MRI Scans
  • Endoscopy Investigations
  • PET CT
  • PH Manometry and Breath Test (Currently available at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital)
  • Stool Samples

Our Services

Gastroenterology Inpatients

We have dedicated Gastroenterology Wards at the William Harvey Hospital (Cambridge M2 Wards) and a Gastroenterology Ward at QEQM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital (Quex Ward)

Consultant-led Gastroenterology outpatients

Our clinics run 7 days a week by Consultant Gastroenterologist. Clinics can be via telephone or face to face and occurs in the following sites:

  • WHH
  • KCH
  • QEQM
  • RVHF

Specialist IBD Service and Teams

We have specialist trained nurses who operated dedicated clinics to treat a number of symptoms. These include:

  • Hepatitis B and C including outreach services
  • HCC Surveillance
  • Fibroscan Services
  • Barrett’s Surveillance Service
  • IBD -inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn’s, colitis, IBD etc
