Our Team

We are a small but dynamic team headed by Dr Jayshri Shah, Lead Clinician for Hepatology. Dr Shah has Senior Clinical responsibility for the Service ensuring governance around all clinical pathways pertaining to the Liver Service and the development of new Liver services.

The Hepatology Department is a specialist sub-specialty within Gastroenterology and sits within the General & Specialist Medicine Specialty.

Hepatology Team consists of the following :

  • Three Consultants plus a visiting Hepatologist
  • Four Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) providing in-reach, diagnostic clinics and outreach services.
  • Hepatology testing co-ordinator
  • Hepatology administrator
  • Matron
  • Service Manager and Clinical Governance Manager work closely together to ensure the service is both effective and working to a high standard. 
  • Hepatology Audit facilitator
  • Hepatology Research Nurse
  • Histopathologist with special interest in GI and Liver histology links with tertiary centre
