Book an X-ray at a time most convenient for you
From 26 April 2021, we are introducing a patient booking service, which means if your GP has told you that you need an X-ray, you can book your X-ray at the time and place most convenient for you.
Your GP will give you a form if you need an X-ray. To book your appointment, you can use this link to be taken to our secure booking site.
Then, simply use the booking site to select the X-ray department closest to you and the appointment slot most convenient for you.
We will send you an email/text reminder about your chosen appointment slot. You will also be able to amend your booking if you need to.
If you want help with booking your appointment online, a friend, carer or relative can do it for you.
You must bring your x-ray request form with you. Without the form from your GP we will be unable to perform your x-ray. We cannot accept digital request forms, so if your GP has emailed it to you, you must print it off and bring it to your appointment.
Please do not book an appointment unless you have this information and please remember to bring this with you when you attend.
Please click on the following link for information on how to book your x-ray in Easy Read or Text only.
What is Radiology?
Radiology is the branch of medicine where clinicians visualise the internal organs and structures, in order to diagnose illness, disease, and fractures; the images obtained form the basis of treatments and monitoring.
The radiology service in East Kent has undergone a rapid period of development - which includes extended routine opening hours, giving people the freedom and flexibility to have their diagnostic examination on a day and at a time that suits them. The roles of staff have also been developed to provide a constant first class service for our patients.
Our service covers the three main hospital sites:
Services are also provided at:
We have introduced an extension to the service provided by radiology for patients by introducing longer opening hours at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, and the William Harvey Hospital.
You can find our opening hours in the tabs at the bottom of this page. Please do not arrive at more than 10 minutes before your appointment time.
