Service Changes at Herne Bay Hospital, Deal Hospital and Faversham Health Centre.
Due to the current Covid-19 situation, from 6th April we are temporarily removing the x-ray service from Victoria Hospital in Deal, The Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital in Herne Bay, and Faversham Cottage Hospital in order to support our Radiology departments at QEQM, WHH and KCH. At this time we will still be operating an x-ray service at Royal Victoria Hospital Folkestone between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, and at Buckland Hospital Dover between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday to Sunday.
Referrals from GP surgeries are being forwarded by the Surgery to the Radiology Department who are then arranging an appointment with the patient.
Referrals from MIU will be carried out at one of the other sites Kent and Canterbury, Royal Victoria Hospital Folkestone, Buckland Hospital Dover, or William Harvey Hospital or Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital.
Any queries please contact the Radiology Department
Radiology is the branch of medicine where clinicians visualise the internal organs and structures, in order to diagnose illness, disease, and fractures; the images obtained form the basis of treatments and monitoring.
The radiology service in east Kent has undergone a rapid period of development - which includes extended routine opening hours, giving people the freedom and flexibility to have their diagnostic examination on a day and at a time that suits them. The roles of staff have also been developed to provide a constant first class service for our patients.
Our service covers the three main hospital sites:
Services are also provided at:
We have introduced an extension to the service provided by radiology for patients by introducing longer opening hours at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, and the William Harvey Hospital.
You can find our opening hours in the tabs at the bottom of this page. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the stated closing time.
