Exercise Programmes / Strengthening

Stiffness of the hand is one of the most common complications following injury or  surgery.  Movement is very important as a basis for any therapy programme and this may be hindered if stiffness remains.

The therapist will instruct the patient on home programmes and direct exercises for the affected and unaffected areas as the healing process allows.

As healing progresses passive range of movement  and strengthening may be introduces as well as strengthening exercises but this will always be within each patients own pain thresholds.

Strengthening can include exercise programmes as well as the option of using out E-Link biometrics computerised system for a grip retraining programme.
