Walking Aids, Crutches and Walking Frames

Did you know?

  • Walking aids cost the NHS huge sums of money to supply to patients. The Therapies departments at East Kent Hospitals alone spent in excess of £27,000 last year on walking aids
  • You can help us save money! If you no longer need the walking aid, frames or crutches we have provided - you can bring them back to the hospital and we will try to reuse them.

We always check any returned crutches and other walking aids to see if we can reuse them. If we cannot use them for our patients we inform charities such as Operation Sunshine, who collect and refurbish them to send abroad to third world countries and for landmine victims.

If you do have any walking aids that could be returned to us please drop them off at any Physiotherapy Outpatient Department at any of the following hospitals.
