Priyanka Uppal, Clinical Fellow in Intensive Care

Priyanka Uppal

I enjoy looking after acutely unwell patients and working in critical care allows me to do just that.

The William Harvey Hospital is a busy district hospital so in critical care we care for patients from lots of different specialities, including medical, surgical and maxillofacial, as well as trauma patients.

As a trainee, I can gain hands-on practical experience in a controlled environment, and I can carry out procedures I wouldn’t normally be able to do.

The unit here has a very good reputation from a trainee’s perspective for the learning opportunities and support you get here.

I have always found the consultants and registrars on the unit to be very approachable and good teachers and it’s a great place to work.
