East Kent Hospitals is taking part in the national inpatient survey, to find out what people think about the care they received as an inpatient in our hospitals.
We will use the experience to improve patients’ experiences, highlight areas where we perform well and identify the areas where we need to improve.
If you stayed in the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital or the William Harvey Hospital during November last year, you may receive a questionnaire between now and April, asking about your experiences.
There are questions about the quality of care and treatment, communication with staff and the facilities.
Getting patient feedback, and listening to what people say, is really important to continuously improve the quality of care.
Results from the survey will be used to track patients’ experiences of care in our hospitals since the last survey was undertaken in 2021, and to find out if recent changes have led to an improvement in patients’ experiences.
Everyone’s responses are confidential and the results of the survey will be presented in a form that does not allow any individual to be identified.
Sarah Shingler, chief nursing and midwifery officer, said: “Our patients are at the heart of everything we do at East Kent Hospitals.
“We would like to thank all our patients who have already taken part and those who will do between now and April. The survey results will help us to promote and manage change ensuring that our patients feel cared for as individuals, feel safe, reassured, involved and confident that we are making a difference.”
