What to expect
Simulation is the perfect learning tool for an anaesthetic trainee and the scenarios provided in these sessions allow for the development of both clinical and non-clinical/communication skills in the potential stressful situation. The obstetric session deals with a number of potential obstetric complications that may arise specific to that area of anaesthetics. Whereas the ‘ready for reg’ simulation session pushes the boundaries previously expected of the trainee into that required of them in their more senior role. The scenarios are designed to push the candidate to act in a way that would be appropriate for their new role whilst allowing them to explore this new territory in a safe and non-judgmental setting.
