Help with using our Patient Portal
Guidance on how to register for the portal, login, select your preferences and navigate between the services.
Step one: download and register with the national NHS App
You will need to download and register with the national NHS App, and use this login on our Patient Portal.
The NHS App is used to securely access your GP health record, prescriptions and COVID-19 vaccination certificates.

Step two: register for the East Kent Hospital's Patient Portal
Once you've downloaded and registered with the NHS App, you will use this login on our Patient Portal.
To register for our Patient Portal, complete the following steps:
Visit https://pp.ekhuft.nhs.uk to open the Patient Portal
Select the 'Continue with NHS login' button
You will be directed to the NHS App to complete your log in
Enter your email address and continue
You will be directed to a screen that will confirm if an NHS Login account was found for you
If you do not have an account, you will be prompted to create an account
If an account exists, you will see a 'We found your NHS login' screen. Click continue to proceed
You will be prompted to enter your password for your NHS App login
You may need to enter a one-time security code from your mobile phone
You will be asked to agree to share your personal information with our Patient Portal. Select 'I agree' to complete the registration process.
Once you have completed the login process with the NHS App, you will be redirected back to the Patient Portal to complete your registration process
You can edit your information and elect to provide feedback if you wish
You will now be directed to the Patient Portal.
If you've already registered with the NHS App and our Patient Portal, you can follow the steps below to log back in:
Visit https://pp.ekhuft.nhs.uk to open the Patient Portal
Select the 'Continue with NHS login' button
You will be directed to the NHS App to complete your log in
Enter your email address and continue
If an account is found, you will be directed to a 'We found your NHS login' screen. Click 'continue' to proceed
You will be prompted to enter your password
You may need to enter a one-time security code from your mobile phone
You will be asked to agree to share your personal information with our Patient Portal. Select 'I agree' to complete the sign in process
You will now be directed to the Patient Portal.
If you are having trouble with your NHS App account, please visit the NHS App support information.
When logged in, you will see four tabs on the left panel of the Patient Portal. These are:
Account – check your phone number and NHS number, any changes will have to be made in the NHS App
Communication preferences – select how you wish us to send letters to you, and if so, in what format
Postal address – check the home address we have for you and edit it if it is incorrect
Apps and integrations – this will show what apps and permissions you have granted. This will include more once other systems are brought on board.
Our Patient Portal currently offers three services:
Appointment information
Access to letters and attachments
Communication preferences
The top of the webpage will display the navigation icons. You can:
Navigate between your letters and appointments by selecting the headings at the top of the page
Amend your letter preferences and address by selecting the Letters icon at the top of the screen
Amend your communication preferences by selecting the person icon in the top right corner of the screen, and then clicking 'preferences'. You will now see the Communication Preferences page where you can choose your preferences or click on the postal address icon to update your address as needed.
