How to access your account
Guidance on how to sign up to the portal, login, select your preferences and navigate between the services.
Step one: download the national NHS app
The NHS App is used to securely access your GP health record, prescriptions and COVID-19 vaccination certificates. You will need to register with the NHS App, and use this login on our patient portal.

Step two: register for the East Kent Hospital's patient portal
Once you've downloaded and registered with the NHS App, you can use this login on the patient portal.
To login to the patient portal, complete the following steps:
Visit https://pp.ekhuft.nhs.uk to open the patient portal
Select the 'Continue with NHS login' button
You will be redirected to the NHS App to complete your log in
The NHS App will ask you to agree to share your personal information with our patient portal - this includes your NHS number, date of birth, name, email address, contact number and General Practice details. Select 'I agree' to complete your registration
Once you have completed the log in process with the NHS App you will be redirected back to the portal to complete your initial registration process
You can edit your information and elect to provide feedback if you wish
Once completed you will be directed to the patient portal page for the service chosen.
To login to the Patient Portal, complete the following steps:
Visit https://pp.ekhuft.nhs.uk to open the patient portal
Select the Continue with NHS login button
You will be directed to the NHS App to complete your log in
Enter your e-mail address and continue
You will be directed to a screen that will confirm if an NHS Login account was found for you
If you do not have an account, you will be prompted to create an account
If an account exists, you will see a We found your NHS login screen. Click continue to proceed to the next step
You will be prompted to enter your password
You may need to enter a one-time security code from your mobile phone
You will be asked to agree to share your personal information with EKHUFT Patient ID. Select 'I agree' to complete the sign in process
You will now be directed to the Patient Portal.
Once logged in, you will see four tabs on the left panel of the portal. These are:
Account – check your phone number and NHS number. Any changes will have to be done in the NHS App
Communication preferences – select how you wish us to send letters to you, digitally or by post and if so in what format, large font, easy read, braille
Postal address – check the home address we have for you and edit it if it is incorrect
Apps and integrations – this will show what apps and permissions you have granted. This will include more once other systems are brought on board.
The top of the webpage will display the navigation icons:
To navigate between your letters and appointments, select the headings at the top of the page
To amend your preferences and address, select the Letters icon at the top of the screen
Click on the person icon in the top right corner of the screen and select preferences. You will now view the Communication Preferences page where you can choose your preferences or click on the postal address icon to update your address as needed.
