We use social media to share recent news and information about our Trust.

Some of our departments also have their own additional social media accounts for users of their services.

Contacting us on social media

We welcome your comments and feedback on our social media channels.

If you need to talk to us about your care, please contact us via our website or use the telephone number provided on your appointment letter.

If you need urgent medical help, please contact NHS 111. 

We cannot provide medical advice over social media. However, we may be able to answer general queries or direct you to where you can find the information you need.

Our accounts are monitored from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. We aim to respond to messages in a timely manner within these hours. This does not include Bank Holidays.

Your comments

Your feedback helps shape our services. We want to hear your thoughts, whether good or bad.

Please remember that your comments on our pages are public. Please do not post any private information or images to our pages that you would not want others to see.

We moderate comments on all of our accounts. We also reserve the right to remove those, at our discretion, that are deemed inappropriate or offensive. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • comments selling services

  • medical misinformation

  • those that break the law

  • personal attacks on our patients or staff

  • comments that include swearing, hate-speech and obscenity.

Repeated breaking of these guidelines could result in you being blocked from interacting with our social media accounts.

If you are concerned about something you have seen on one our social media pages, please either:

Privacy

We protect and respect the privacy of our patients, visitors and staff.

To make sure everyone has the privacy they deserve, you must not take pictures or videos of any patients, visitors or our staff without the written consent of everyone included in the image or footage. This includes images and video footage for use on your social media accounts.

Anyone who is seen taking pictures or video on our sites without written consent can be asked to delete the images and/or remove posts from social media.  If you fail to comply, you may be asked to leave our site. In certain circumstances, the police may be contacted.

In addition, we ask that you do not share personal details, including the names of staff members, on social media. We also ask that you do not share medical information about any of our patients, visitors or staff without the individual’s written consent.
