Medications

What you can expect

• All your own medications will be prescribed on admission by doctors, unless inappropriate due to your current medical condition

• A registered nurse will administer your prescribed medications, ensuring that they are taken and not left attended

• A pharmacist is also available to review your medications

• All new medications will be explained to you by a member of staff.

How you can help 

• It is important to bring in all medications that you are taking at the time of your admission or to ask a relative or friend to bring them in

• These medications must be handed to a member of the nursing staff and will be kept in a locked cupboard

• Please take your medications when the nurse gives them to you.
