Public transport

Bus services

Extra buses have been added to the Stagecoach fleet in Ashford to provide two new routes for the town and improves links to the hospital. These changes mean that there is now a direct bus every 30 minutes during the day from Kennington, Park Farm or the town centre, from Monday to Saturday.

  • *NEW* K Line Stagecoach - from William Harvey Hospital and Park Farm Estate via the A2070 (Mondays to Friday). Runs every 30mins. On Sundays the H-Line will provide the link between Park Farm and the hospital once an hour.

  • *NEW* H Line Stagecoach - circular route from the Hospital via Kennington Road to Spearpoint Corner, Kennington The Street, Upper Vicarage Road, Trinity Road, Towers Estate, Bockhanger, Bybook, Ashford Station, Ashford Town Centre, and direct via Hythe Road back to the Hospital. On Sundays buses will go via Park Farm rather than Hythe Road to the Hospital and will run every hour from 06:00 until 21:00

  • C-Line Stagecoach – to and from the Hospital from Willesborough, Ashford Station and the town centre (Bank Street) every 10-20 minutes (Mondays to Fridays) or every 30 minutes (Sundays). It also runs to Bybrook Bybrook and Kennington every 30 minutes.

  • Route 10 / 10A Stagecoach – once or twice an hour to and from the Hospital from Ashford Station and the town centre (Elwick Road). From the town centre, buses continue once an hour to Maidstone as route 10X. In the other direction, routes 10 and 10A serve the hospital from Brabourne Lees, Sellindge, Hythe and Folkestone.

  • Route 10X Stagecoach from Maidstone, Bearsted, Harrietsham, Lenham and Charing

  • Route 11 Stagecoach from Lydd, New Romney, Hamstreet and Ashford

  • A Line Stagecoach - runs every 10 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays from South Ashford, Singleton and Stanhope to the town centre. Change at Bank Street for the H-Line or C-Line. On the way back from the hospital the best place to change is at the station. On Sundays, A-Line buses continue all the way to the hospital (the route name changes to C-Line in the town centre), running between 06:00 and 21:00.

Another useful journey planner tool can be found here at – this website enables you to select various methods of transport as opposed to just Stagecoach buses.  Simply enter your journey details and select/de-select travel options in the section below.  Note, to aid finding our hospitals either enter the postcode or for WHH enter “Willesborough, William Harvey”, for QEQM enter “Margate, Queen Elizabeth”, and for K&C enter “Kent and Canterbury”.

Train services

Trains to Ashford (William Harvey Hospital)

Ashford International is the nearest rail station to the William Harvey Hospital. It is a short walk from the town centre, from where 'bus service 5' runs every 15 minutes.  Bus services 10 and 11 also run directly from the station to the hospital. These services both run about once an hour.

There are regular direct train services to Ashford International from Tonbridge, Paddock Wood, Margate, Ramsgate, Dover and Folkestone, as well as many other stations.

Patient Transport offered by East Kent Hospitals

NHS Transport

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) provides a free non-emergency ambulance healthcare transport service for patients who have a clinical and medical need for transport, where their current mobility needs would not allow them to use their own, or public transport to get to or from an NHS health care appointment.
