K&C visitor car park disruptions from May 2026

From Tuesday, 5 May, we are expecting disruptions to our parking areas for visitors to Kent and Canterbury hospital (K&C). This is for work to install solar canopies.

During this time, there will be signs up around the site to guide you, and members of our parking team will also be there to help you.

The works will take place in two phases over a period of around 18 weeks.

Phase one – from 5 May 2026

Visitor car park 2 - lower section (nearest the Fracture clinic entrance) will not be accessible from 5 May for around 9 weeks.

59 replacement Visitor bays will be made available using the Staff car park outside the Outpatients entrance, located past Visitor car park 3. A temporary Pay & Display machine will be installed allowing you to pay by coin, card, or cashless via the RingGo app.

14 Visitor disabled bays will be re-provided as close to the Fracture clinic entrance as practical.

Visitor car park 2 - upper section (nearest the South Ethelbert Road site entrance) will remain accessible for 27 Visitor vehicles. Payment will be RingGo cashless payments only during this time, with the dual entry lane being converted to left for entry and right for exit.

Bus stop near the Fracture clinic entrance will not be serviced from 5 May for around 9 weeks. Stagecoach buses will only stop at the bus stop outside the Outpatients entrance.

Visitor car park 1 (near the Children’s Assessment Centre) is not affected and will be open as normal throughout the works.

Phase two – expected from early July 2026

Visitor car park 3 (near the Outpatients entrance) will remain 50% open from early July for around 9 weeks. The ANPR system will still be working for the area which remains open.

59 replacement Visitor bays will be available using the Staff car park outside the Outpatients entrance, located past Visitor car park 3. A temporary Pay & Display machine will be installed allowing you to pay by coin, card, or cashless via the RingGo app.
