Eyes down for charity drag bingo fun in Margate
Organisers are hoping for a full house at a charity drag bingo evening in Margate.
The event takes place on Wednesday,15 October at Lester’s family pub and restaurant, next to the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital, and is raising money for East Kent Hospitals Charity.
Kent drag duo Delilah Tickles and Anita Wee will head up the fundraising fun, promising outrageous comedy and cheeky banter as players dab their way to victory.
Delilah, also known as Dean Heckley, said the pair were looking forward to a glittering and glamorous evening.
Dean said: “My nan was cared for by the critical care team until she passed, so the hospital and the charity are very close to me.
“I’d like to help raise as much as possible for the charity, and also say a big thank you to the hard-working staff and hopefully let everyone enjoy a night of camp fun and silly bingo.”
Tickets cost £25 and include three games of bingo, a basket meal, and entertainment from Delilah and Anita. Bring additional cash to take part in the magic handbag game with a cash prize.
Dee Neligan, head of East Kent Hospitals Charity, said: “This will be a fantastic evening for anyone who loves bingo, or who loves drag – and if you’re a fan of both then don’t miss out!
“Our hilarious hosts will make sure there is plenty of laughter and fun, and it is the perfect antidote to the stresses and strains of life.
“Every penny raised will be used to improve our hospitals for the benefit of patients, staff and visitors.”
As this is a charity event there will be no money prizes for the bingo and small token prizes will be given to winners.
Doors open at 7pm, with food served at 7.30pm and at 8pm it will be eyes down for the bingo.
