If you are worried about symptoms of a gynaecological cancer, please see your GP.

If you have suspected gynaecological cancer, your GP will refer you to our specialist team, on an urgent pathway.

You will be seen within two weeks from the date we received the GP referral.

If you have abnormal bleeding, you are likely to be seen in our diagnostic clinic. Most patients in this situation will not have cancer. However, it is still important to attend your appointment so you can be checked.

Diagnosis and next steps

If your test results suggest you have gynaecological cancer, our team will contact you to introduce you to your Clinical Nurse Specialist and explain the next steps.

We will arrange the best care plan for you and discuss your options at your next appointment.

If you require surgery, you will be admitted to our Birchington Ward at Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital, Margate.

Please remember our team are here for you throughout your treatment. You can contact us via the cancer care line on 01227 868666.
