What we do
Our Medical Physics department help apply physics and engineering to medicine. We provide scientific and technical support to improve your care. Our services are provided by a large mix of experts, from clinical scientists to occupational therapists.
The department includes:
Radiology physics
Ensures safe and effective use of diagnostic medical imaging equipment, such as X-ray, CT and ultrasound scans.Nuclear medicine physics
Checks that imaging equipment works well, keeps everyone safe from radiation, and trains staff to use the equipment safely.Medical devices governance
Ensures hospital equipment is safe to use, well maintained, and used correctly by trained staff.Communication and Assistive Technology (KM CAT)
Assesses and provides technology to support with face-to-face communication for people with complex disabilities.
