What we do

Our trauma and orthopaedics service cares for people with injuries, fractures and long-term conditions of the musculoskeletal system.

The musculoskeletal system includes:

  • bones

  • joints

  • muscles

  • tendons

  • ligaments

  • other connective tissues.

  • fracture management

  • joint replacement surgery

  • sports-related medicine

  • spinal surgery

  • trauma surgery for serious injuries

  • paediatric (children's) orthopaedics

  • elective procedures for chronic musculoskeletal conditions

  • rehabilitation for post-operative care.

About your appointment

To prepare for your appointment, please wear comfortable clothing and bring with you:

  • any supportive devices you use

  • any relevant medical records, medical history and imaging results

  • a list of current medications and allergies

  • any questions you'd like to ask

Please speak to your GP, who can refer you to our service.

We aim to see all patients referred to us within 18 weeks of receiving the referral.
